Getting started
Quickstart
Create a key and send your first message.
- Connect a WhatsApp number. In the dashboard open Numbers and connect your WhatsApp Business number through Meta. The number must be
active. - Create an API key. Open API Keys, choose a name and the scopes you need (for this guide:
messages:sendandmessages:read). Copy the key — it starts withwk_and is shown only once. - Check the key works.
curl https://waba.clouddns.co.in/api/v1/me \ -H "Authorization: Bearer wk_your_key" - Send a template message. To start a conversation with a customer you must use an approved template. Free-form text is only allowed within 24 hours of their last message.
curl -X POST https://waba.clouddns.co.in/api/v1/messages \ -H "Authorization: Bearer wk_your_key" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{ "to": "14155550100", "type": "template", "template": { "name": "hello_world", "language": "en_US" } }'HTTP/1.1 202 Accepted { "id": 4812, "status": "queued", "to": "14155550100", "conversation_id": 377 } - Track delivery. Poll
GET /messages/4812or, better, subscribe to webhooks to be notified ofmessage.deliveredandmessage.read.
202 means queued, not delivered. Messages are sent asynchronously. The final status arrives via webhook or by reading the message.
